CONSIDER THESE HANDY TIPS!
✓ Is your car over 4 years old? Has your air conditioning ever been serviced? Most new cars will need a service after 4 to 5 years.
✓ Recommended air conditioning service is every 1 to 2 years. A good time is before summer, even in winter or before going on a long trip.

✓ Most new cars up to 10 years old have a cab filter and this blocks up and restricts air flow out of the vents.
✓ It is important to run your air conditioning unit for about 5 minutes every 2 weeks – this lubricates the air conditioning system maintaining its integrity.
✓ Do not use your air conditioning if it’s not as cold as usual as this can cause damage to the compressor which can be very expensive to replace.
✓ Turn air conditioning off immediately if there are any noises when running, this will stop any further damage.
✓ On very hot days or in traffic – switch vents from fresh air to recirculate, this shuts out all outside air and reuses the already cool air inside the car.
✓ When your air conditioning unit is in use, make sure your heater is turned off fully.
✓ In raining weather your air conditioning unit will demist your windscreen quickly.
✓ The slower the fan speed the cooler the air conditioned air will come out of the vents.
✓ If your car has been parked in the sun - when you drive off turn the air conditioning on and put your windows down for a few minutes to suck hot air out of the car. This will assist in cooling the car down faster.
